“A message from the mayor" – Extension of state of emergency (January 22nd, 2021)
The state of emergency has been extended for the entire prefecture. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who are working in health care or are otherwise concerned, as I am sure the current situation has brought about tremendous hardship. The restrictions imposed continue to be of great inconvenience to our citizens in pursuing their everyday lives. However, considering the situation within the prefecture as well as Kobayashi City, stabilization has not yet been reached. The shortening of business hours has been especially hard for restaurants. On their behalf and that of other companies, I am contriving ways and means of asking the country for support. The extension of the state of emergency is expected to put further strain on everyone but if we should wane in our resolve and lift it now, all our efforts so far will come to nothing. Again I must ask you for your understanding and support.
Even though further cases of infections have been confirmed in Kobayashi City, we must not spread rumors or unverified information or participate in slander of any kind. Anyone can get infected at any time in these times. Making yourself aware that this crisis concerns each and every one of us next to implementing the new normal to help prevent new infections is of utmost importance.
I would kindly ask for your support and understanding and responsible conduct in this matter. Let us work shoulder to shoulder!
